"The rail bed was completely washed out by flood waters," said Joe Pesaturo, spokesman for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. 
"We won't be able to do a true assessment until the rain stops and the water recedes."

Sections of railway for the city's trolley system, which operated from the mid-1880s to the late 1920s, recently were unearthed during road work along Main Street near Elmwood Avenue. 


'They're pretty much the old trolley tracks,' Dana Higgins, Columbia assistant engineer for construction, said of the lines that once were part of the city's mass transit system.

Tempe Police spokesman Steven Carbajal said it happened at around 8 p.m. on the bridge near Mill Avenue. 
Carbajal said the driver, 20-year-old Brauden Linville was arrested for DUI and trespassing on the tracks.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is rightly concerned about the need for competition from the realistic and efficient option of a rail link.
